Jeff Herndon is an American journalist working at KSNW-TV as an Assistant News director and main anchor in Wichita, Kansas, since joining the network in September 2017. Previously, he worked at WFLD/FOX 32 News as the Primary Evening News Anchor based in the Greater Chicago area. Before that, Jeff was hired at KAKE TV in Wichita as a weekend sports anchor and the station’s primary anchor.

Herndon was born in Haysville, Kansas, United States of America. From there he went to Wichita State University and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast journalism. Jeff is an American journalist working as an Assistant news director and main anchor at KSNW-TV in Wichita, Kansas. He is thrilled to be back in his hometown covering stories that matter to the people in the Metropolitan area. Herndon began his broadcasting career in 1997, working at KAKE-TV in Wichita as a Sports Photographer and Reporter. After that, he joined KTKA-TV in Topeka where he served as a weekend sports anchor for one year.

In July 2001, Jeff made his way back to KAKE-TV in Wichita and was hired as a weekend sports anchor. After one year he was promoted to the Main anchor of KAKE News at 6 and 10. Additionally, Jeff served as the primary co-anchor for KAKE’s live, continuous coverage of the apprehension, arraignment, and sentencing of the BTK Serial Killer. When BTK, Dennis Rader, was being held at the Sedgwick County Jail, Jeff was one of only two television journalists who interviewed him.

In October 2013, Jeff moved to Chicago and began working as the lead news anchor for the FOX affiliate in Chicago, WFLD, for four years until joining KSN in September 2017. During his time in Chicago, Jeff co-anchored FOX Chicago’s political coverage of the 2015 Chicago mayoral election and the 2014 Illinois gubernatorial election. He co-anchored Fox Chicago’s presidential coverage in 2016 as well. During the Chicago Cubs’ 2016 World Series Championship run, Jeff additionally covered the game as a field anchor for Fox Chicago. Additionally, Jeff has received multiple awards for his news reporting from the Kansas Association of Broadcasters and has won four Heartland Chapter Emmys.
